The Begining of the Start

You know those weeks or months when nothing seems to be going right? Its the day when you wake up five minutes after you class started or you were suppose to be at work, when you finally get up you jump into the shower only to find that all the hot water is out, and you forgot to grab a towel before you jumped in. You run to to dryer to grab your jeans, and surprise surprise someone turned the dryer off so you have no pants to wear! When you finally get around to leaving you try to think positive and are determined to at least finish the day in a good way despite you bad morning. You go to class/work and your teacher/boss gets on your case, and not just one on one he has to yell and chew you out in front of your peers so it makes it so much worse. Your feeling discouraged and down on yourself but you still try to look at the glass "half full" (what does it matter anyway? your half out of your favorite drink anyways!) You come home looking for someone to cheer you up but when you walk in the door you meet a upset roommate, sibling, spouse, or parent telling you of how horrible their day was and taking it out on you. All you can do is listen and sympathize while you say to yourself you should hear about my day!

Last night i was talking to my wonderful roommate about our days and week had been going, and we got to talking about life and reasons behind it. I wondered why life can be so good and you can feel so happy about it, and the next moment you are back to square one again. Why do we have to experience the same trials over and over again. What was really interesting to me was the fact that we can overcome something and when it comes back to us we feel unprepared and helpless, even though we have already faced and overcame the issue before. My roommate put it like this, "Isn't it funny how we can find the keys to our problems and unlock the door just to close it behind us and lose the key again." We both sat there in our own thoughts and feelings when she broke the silence and said to the effect that its all in the journey. We can't learn or grow if we don't go through trials, and we learn by trial and error, also i like to think Heavenly Father doesnt want us to learn something only to lose or forget it so he helps us remember.

And so we need not worry about the little and or big things in life, we need to embrace them for what they are worth. They are our personal building blocks. So in the words of Maria Robinson,
"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make
a new ending."
